CEL is located in the IIT Madras Research Park, Chennai, as part of Centre for Urbanization, Buildings & Environment, IIT Madras. The Laboratory, fostered by Tamil Nadu pollution Control Board and IIT Madras, has state of the art Equipment and is furnished with good quality operational infrastructure with adequate safety and security measures in place. The laboratory is furnished with SEFA certified Laboratory furniture.
